Lois Musial

MEMPHIS -- Lois W. Musial, 85, a lifelong resident of Memphis, departed from this life on Monday, June 4, 2007, to join her husband, Walter, in God's eternal kingdom.

She was born in Wales Township on April 29, 1922, a daughter to the late Winfred and Louzina (Moran) Pratt. She married Walter J. Musial on February 1, 1940 in St. Philip of Neri Catholic Church, Columbus Township. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2002.

Lois was employed by Crown Foods and then by Vlasic Foods as a supervisor. She enjoyed her family and friends and had traveled much of the United States and Ontario.

Lois was one of the original members of All Saints Catholic Church, Memphis, when it was first a mission. She was a volunteer and active member in several branches of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Michigan. She was a past head officer in Memphis Rebekah Lodge #440, Oak Leaf Rebekah Lodge #113, District 1 Rebekah Lodges, Port Huron Ladies Encampment Auxiliary #158, Blue Water Lodge IOOF #138 and a member of the Department Association Ladies Auxiliary Patriarchs Militant. She was installed to the highest State of Michigan office of the Grand Ladies Encampment Auxiliary of Michigan as Grand Matriarch in 1991. She was a Charter Member of Maryglade Guild #1 of PIME and Past Regent of St. Augustine Daughters of Isabella #850. Lois was also a member of the All Saints Altar Sodality, an active camper with the Torch Lighters FCRV and Triple Link Campers Clubs, and she served as an adult advisor to the Memphis Youth Council during the late 1950's and early 1960's.

Surviving are children, Sandra (Donald) Bauman of Yale and William (Cheri) Musial of Marine City; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter; sisters, May Clark, Doris Upplegger and Joyce Regan; brother-in-law, Ted (Mary Ann) Musial; and many nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years; her parents; five sisters; and a brother.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. in All Saints Catholic Church, Memphis, with The Reverend Joseph R. Horn presiding. Interment will follow in Memphis Cemetery.

Visiting in Kammeraad Funeral Home, Memphis, is Thursday 3 to 8 p.m. and in the church on Friday 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m.
